When a young family in Collingwood asked us to repaint their tired 1990s lakefront home, they wanted one thing above all else: a space that felt as calm as the view outside their windows.
Choosing a coastal palette
We started with an in-home colour consultation. Soft, foggy whites for the trim, a warm greige for living spaces, and a quiet, deep navy as an accent on built-ins anchored the home without overwhelming the natural light.
Surface preparation
Every wall was sanded, patched, and primed before painting. We replaced caulking around the trim and stained baseboards where needed, ensuring the final coats would lay perfectly flat.
The finished look
The result was a serene, gallery-like interior that flows from room to room. The owners said the home now feels twice as bright — and a perfect match for the lake just beyond the deck.
What we learned
A whole-home repaint is as much about lighting and sightlines as it is about colour. The right palette, applied with care, can completely change the way a family lives in their space.
